Term 4

We have had a wonderful start to term 4 and everyone is getting back into their routines and learning. This term I would like to welcome Lucy Langley and her family to Room 11. Lucy has come from Philadelphia and is with us for the rest of the year. A very warm welcome to Lucy and her family. I would also like to welcome back Sandra Saywell. Sandra is in her first year of teacher training and has come back to Room 11 to complete another 4 week placement. 

Reminders:

Sunhats:Children must wear a wide brimmed sunhat when playing outside this term. If you do not have one they can be purchased from the school office.

Masked Parade: The Masked Parade is on Friday 27th October. A notice came home in your child's home/school book this week.The children have been working hard on their Takahe masks and it would be wonderful to see you all there on the night.

Assemble in Montgomery Square carpark from 4.10pm. Judging takes place at 4.30pm, the Parade starts at 5.15pm.
Please bring your child to the carpark and look for the NCS assembly number : B12.
IMPORTANT: Please meet us back at the same place after the parade has finished and let me know before you take your child. I need to mark them off my roll.
Wet weather day Sunday 29th – listen to More FM 92.8fm for traffic reports and wet weather announcements. 

Upcoming Museum trip:
This term we are learning all about Minibeasts. Room 11 will be going to the Museum on Tuesday November 7th to see the amazing Backyard Bugs exhibition. We will be leaving just after 9am and returning at about 11am. If you are able to walk with us please let me know. I will send out a notice and reminder closer to the date.

Room 11 had a fantastic trip to the Suter Art Gallery. A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and grandparents that came along with us.








Tracking tunnels

We had great fun making tracking tunnels. We left them overnight around the school to see what creatures were out and about.

DISCOVERY TIME

In Discovery Time we took up the challenge of designing and creating a boat that would float.
There are some very creative children in Room 11!










No Child Left Inside

On a Tuesday afternoon we take part in a fundamental skills programme called 'No Child Left Inside'. Our teacher is Bodie.
This term we are learning about ball skills. Here we are practising our overarm throws.







Welcome to Room 11

We have had a lot of fun during our first week of learning in Room 11. 
We have spend time getting to know each other and the rest of our awesome Pohutukawa Syndicate.




We have had our first Discovery Time.




Taylor and Ashton did a great job running our first Pohutukawa Syndicate assembly.



We all got together on Friday to have some fun and see all of our friends in Pohutukawa.
